Moderna and Merck have announced positive Phase 3 results for an individualized mRNA therapy for melanoma, in combination with KEYTRUDA, in patients with completely resected stage IIB-IV melanoma. The study met its primary endpoint of recurrence-free survival and a key secondary endpoint of distant metastasis-free survival. This is the first positive Phase 3 result for an individualized neoantigen therapy and the first for an mRNA-based cancer therapy. The results mark an important milestone for Moderna and the field of mRNA therapy.
