The article presents a project to create a color space for generating diverse skin tones, aiming to provide a more inclusive range of colors for digital art and character creation. The author used a combination of manual labeling, principal component analysis, and function fitting to define a set of equations that can generate a wide range of skin tones. The resulting color picker allows users to adjust three independent values to produce different skin tones. The project's goal is to provide a useful starting point for creating more inclusive color tools, while acknowledging its limitations and potential biases.
