The author reimagined a classic first-gen MacBook from 2006 by retrofitting it with new components, including a Framework Laptop 13 Mainboard, 64GB of RAM, and a CSOT display panel. The project involved disassembling the original MacBook, 3D printing custom parts, and soldering connections. The author learned various skills, including soldering and 3D modeling, during the three-month project. The resulting laptop, dubbed the FrameBook, combines modern internals with a vintage exterior.
