Heathrow Airport has scrapped the 100ml liquid container limit for passengers going through security, thanks to the rollout of new high-tech CT scanners. The scanners allow passengers to keep liquids in containers up to two liters in their bags, and also permit electronics such as laptops to remain in luggage. This change only applies to flights leaving Heathrow, and passengers must still check restrictions at their destination airport. The UK's Department for Transport must approve the new rules for other airports to follow suit.
