GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke has resigned, and GitHub will be moving closer into Microsoft's CoreAI team, with its leadership team reporting directly to the CoreAI team. This change means GitHub no longer has a single leader or CEO. Dohmke is leaving to become a startup founder again and will stay through the end of 2025 to help guide the transition. GitHub has operated as a separate company since Microsoft acquired it in 2018 for $7.5 billion.
