The article describes the development of a homemade polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system carried by a small drone. The system uses a frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar with dual-polarized antennas and is designed to capture high-resolution images from the air. The author discusses the design considerations, including the choice of radar architecture, RF components, and antenna design, as well as the challenges of integrating the system into a small drone. The system is intended for applications such as terrain mapping and remote sensing.
