Researchers have developed Toon3D, a method for reconstructing 3D scenes from 2D cartoon images, even when the images are not geometrically consistent. The method uses a combination of monocular depth prediction, camera pose estimation, and deformation optimization to create a 3D model from the input images. The resulting 3D models can be used to generate novel views of the scene, allowing for exploration of the scene from new perspectives. The method has been tested on a variety of cartoon scenes and has shown promising results.
