Twitter has begun mass layoffs under new management by Elon Musk, with employees being notified of their employment status via email. The layoffs were rumored to affect half of the company's 7,500 employees. Musk's team had previously asked engineers to print out their code from the last 30-60 days, which some saw as a blunt tool for evaluating productivity. The company will owe around $1 billion a year in interest payments due to the $13 billion debt taken on as part of Musk's deal to buy Twitter.
