What commenters say

• ETH Zürich is considered one of the best universities in the world, with high-quality education at a relatively low cost. Some commenters prefer self-hosted video platforms over YouTube due to concerns about ads and content control. Others argue that YouTube provides useful features like auto-generated captions and speed control, making it a convenient option. The cost of living in Zurich can be high, but the university's low tuition fees make it an attractive option for international students. Some users appreciate the availability of video download tools like youtube-dl, which allows them to watch videos offline. There are concerns about the aggressive royalty collection practices of organizations like GEMA, which can limit access to certain content on YouTube. Alternative video platforms like PeerTube are being explored as options for creators who want more control over their content. The quality of education at European universities like ETH Zürich is often compared favorably to that of US universities, with some commenters noting that the cost of education in the US can be prohibitively expensive.
